Ben Mauro grew up in Syracuse, New York. He first began playing guitar at age 16 blasting Led Zeppelin songs in his parents’ basement and he says that by age 17 he was totally obsessed with making music.

Ben says that he would live for concerts in those days. “I would wait in line for hours for tickets and be wide-eyed watching all my favorite bands up close.”

In those early days Ben would sit in his bedroom, which was lined with huge Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix posters that he got from an older cousin and practice for eight hours at a time, dreaming of the day he would be playing concerts in huge stadiums all around the world. (more…)

Oscar Seaton

Oscar Seaton grew up on the south side of Chicago. He began playing drums at age four by beating on pots and pans in his mother’s kitchen.

His first real gig came at just 10 years old when he began playing drums for one of the biggest Gospel Choirs in Chicago. It was the birth place of his unique style and a gig that took him all over the country giving concerts.

From this early start he developed into one of the most well-respected musicians in Chicago, playing and recording with many of the city’s great gospel, jazz and blues artists. Oscar says that no one drummer inspired him to begin playing drums and that he felt like it was always inside of him. But he does list Harvey Mason and Steve Gadd as among his early influences.
